
About This Role
What you'll actually do
You'll work one on one with children affected by autism, helping them learn and grow in their own homes. The job is part time or part time to full time, and your hours will vary week to week. You'll travel to clients' homes and community settings to deliver in home behavioral intervention. We train you in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) along the way, so you don't need to know it already. You get paid for your training time, and you also get paid drive time plus mileage reimbursement at the federal rate. Every step of the way, there's ongoing dedicated supervision and support to help you succeed and actually thrive in the role.
There's some physical side to this work. You'll be walking, sometimes running, standing, sitting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, twisting, reaching above your head, bending, and carrying up to 50 pounds. A lot of the play with kids happens on the floor or on child size furniture, so be ready for that. You'll need to stay alert to the safety of the child and the surroundings at all times. Quick and sudden movements can happen, and sustained physical exertion may be required for up to 45 minutes at a stretch.
What you need to bring
- High School Diploma is required
- Active RBT Certification is required
- Previous experience working with children is preferred, not required
- Bilingual skills are a plus but not required
- Your own reliable transportation with a valid driver's license, auto registration, and auto insurance
- Proof of immunization records and a TB test
- A clean background check is part of the process

Who we're looking for
Someone who genuinely wants to work with kids and help them learn. You don't need a psych degree or years of experience ; we'll teach you the skills. If you've got a background in childcare, teaching, social services, behavioral health, or even coaching or babysitting, that's great. People from fields like psychology, sociology, social work, or as a teacher's aide, paraprofessional, preschool teacher, camp counselor, or caregiver often find this work really rewarding.
