About This Role

What You'll Be Doing

This is a Project Manager/Estimator role with an award winning contractor that's been around for nearly 50 years. They handle commercial and industrial work across Central Texas ; think hospitality, retail, mixed use, government buildings, and office space. You'll be managing projects from start to finish, keeping them on time and under budget while also putting together the cost estimates that win new work.

Here's what that looks like day to day:

  • Manage every phase of construction projects ; planning through completion ; making sure safety and quality standards are met
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and everything else that goes into a project
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, architects, engineers, and anyone else involved so the project runs smoothly
  • Build and maintain project schedules, spot potential issues early, and figure out solutions before they become problems
  • Lead and motivate your project teams, keeping a positive culture where people actually want to collaborate
  • Estimate, win, and manage projects totaling $5 million to $10 million each year

What You'll Need

You're not walking into this cold. They need someone with solid experience and real skills.

  • At least 5 years of project management and estimation experience in commercial construction
  • A proven history of estimating commercial project budgets up to $10 million
  • Deep understanding of construction materials, labor costs, and equipment rates
  • Experience actually winning and managing the projects you estimate
  • Leadership skills that show you can motivate a team without being a jerk about it
  • Comfortable with project management software and tools, plus a working knowledge of construction codes and regulations
  • A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or something related is preferred
  • PMP or CPE certification is a plus, but not required
