What you'd be doing

The core of the job is handling the books for a group of properties, mostly multifamily apartments and mixed use spaces. You'd own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for your portfolio.

• Running regular audits to keep everything accurate and compliant.
• Using Yardi software is a big part of the daily workflow here.
• You'll work closely with property managers to make sure reporting is on time and correct.
• Helping put together budgets and financial forecasts for the properties.
• Reconciling bank statements and general ledgers, then fixing any issues you find.
• Coordinating with external auditors and managing tax prep for your properties is also part of it.

The background we need

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required. On top of that, we're looking for at least five years specifically in property accounting. Experience in construction or real estate development would be a great fit.

You have to know Yardi, or something very similar like MRI. Hands on experience with multifamily or mixed use property types isn't just preferred; it's pretty much essential. And you should be solid with standard accounting principles, tax laws, and financial reporting.

We need someone who can juggle multiple tasks without dropping the ball. Being proactive; seeing what needs to be done before being asked; goes a long way here. Strong skills in Microsoft Excel are non negotiable.
