About This Role

What the job is

This is a PRN (as needed) consulting dietitian role at Baylor University Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. The schedule's flexible; they need weekday and weekend availability.

You'd be working inside a major teaching hospital. It's a Level I trauma center with a Level IV NICU, over 900 beds, and a big focus on research and tech. It's the flagship hospital for the system.

What you'd actually do here

  • Assess a patient's nutritional status and build an individual plan based on their medical history and needs.
  • Educate and counsel patients and their families about nutrition, eating habits, and lifestyle changes.
  • Work directly with doctors, nurses, and other clinicians to develop clinical protocols and best practices for nutrition care.
  • Monitor how patients are progressing and adjust their nutrition plans when necessary.
  • The job requires you to stay current with new research in clinical nutrition.

A quick note: at Aramark, job duties can change or new ones can pop up without formal notice. They expect you to develop skills and do what it takes to get the work done.

The stuff you need to have

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nutrition or a closely related field.
  • You must be a Registered Dietitian (RD).
  • You need to be licensed as a Dietitian in Texas.
  • They're looking for entry level RDs all the way up to experienced ones. If you have your CNSC credential, that's definitely noted here too.

The kind of person they need

You'll need solid leadership skills, but also the ability to work well on an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Clear communication is non negotiable. And honestly, they want someone who genuinely cares about using high quality nutrition care to make patients better.

The work setting varies. You could be in busy hospital floors, patient rooms, outpatient areas, or even kitchen spaces. It's not always at a desk.
