About This Role

What you'll be doing

This is a consulting role based onsite in the Los Angeles, CA area. You're coming in as an Imaging Applications Analyst II, meaning you've got real experience under your belt and can handle things with minimal supervision. The work splits roughly 75% operational and 25% design.

On the operational side, you'll troubleshoot, configure, validate, upgrade, and support enterprise wide clinical imaging applications. That includes off hour on call support when things pop up. You'll work independently on some projects and collaborate with a team on others.

The design portion involves leading implementations, upgrades, and solution conversions. You'll provide escalation support for tough issues, track down root causes through testing and analysis, and isolate problems before recommending fixes. You'll work closely with all IS teams to keep these imaging applications compliant with organizational standards.

You'll also support HL7 integration between Cerner EMR and all Imaging applications to keep data consistent across systems. Expect regular meetings with clinicians, vendors, and IT staff to develop or modify system specs. And yes ; after hours and weekend support is part of it since these systems run 24/7.

  • Candidates who understand business language well enough to explain application impacts without drowning people in jargon tend to do really well here. That analytical ability matters a lot.

The kind of person they need

You can analyze tricky workflow or application problems coldly and figure out what's actually feasible from both a technical perspective and a cost standpoint. You've done this long enough to estimate how long system changes will take without guessing blind. You know how to train clinicians too ; creating training plans x materials x delivering them directly to Faculty staff isn't something everyone enjoys but it's part of this role.
