About This Role

The Role

This is a Vehicle Sales Manager position with Ryder System in Little Rock, AR. You'll be focused on one thing: selling used vehicles. Trucks, mostly. You'll build a retail network, move inventory, and work with wholesale channels to get the best possible return on every vehicle that comes through.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

What You'll Actually Do

  • Build a retail sales network using advertising, direct mail, prospect lists, walk ins, cold calls, and sales events. You're not waiting for customers to find you.
  • Handle the paperwork correctly: bills of sale, title documents, warranty forms, and all promotional materials tied to vehicle sales.
  • Talk to customers, employees, and Vehicle Sales Management regularly. Clear communication keeps deals moving.
  • Track customer satisfaction and put processes in place to improve it. Keep people coming back.
  • Make sure every vehicle is accepted for sale in Road Ready (8.1) condition. No exceptions.
  • Watch retail sales and marketing programs. Give feedback and suggest changes that reduce inventory holding time and increase gains on each sale.
  • Spot surplus or deficient inventory levels early. Recommend solutions to cut total holding time.
  • Work closely with the Area Trade/Wholesale Manager and the Manager of International Vehicle Sales to coordinate identification, transportation, and deployment of trade and wholesale vehicles.
  • Promote Ryder Financing programs. Keep repossessions low and speed up the overall sale timeline.
  • Enforce pricing strategies. Help identify and coordinate transport for wholesale, trade, and export vehicles.
  • Partner with district and region maintenance teams to ensure vehicles hit Road Ready condition before they're listed.
  • Give district asset management input on market conditions, pricing, and out service timeliness and quality.
  • Implement company and product line policies. Keep communication flowing between internal teams and external customers.

What You're Working With

Base salary of $50,000 plus a guaranteed allowance. First year earnings are projected at $90,000 to $100,000 when you factor in commission. You get a structured work week, but the pay is variable based on how well you sell.
