Ameritas

Sales Representative

Ameritas·Lincoln, NE

About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this role. It's a hybrid position based in Lincoln, Nebraska, where you'll split your time between the office and working from home.

You'd be the go to person for our sales teams out in the field. When an agent has a question about a product, needs an illustration to show a client, or is figuring out the best way to structure a case, they call you. You're not just answering questions; you're consulting, teaching them how to use our systems, and helping them navigate everything from software hiccups to commission issues. Most of your day; about 85% of it; is spent on these immediate support calls and projects.

The other 15% is more proactive. You'll build relationships with specific regional offices, check in with key contacts to share new promotions or concepts, and make sure they have what they need to sell effectively.

What you'd do day to day

  • Answer incoming calls from agents and field offices needing sales support.
  • Create illustrations and provide marketing materials for active cases.
  • Consult on case design and guide partners on product selection.
  • Become an expert on our illustration software; train agents on it and troubleshoot problems.
  • Act as a central resource to help resolve issues across licensing, commissions, and new business.
  • Make sure any call you refer gets followed up on promptly.
  • Log every interaction, issue, and opportunity in Salesforce.com.
  • Proactively reach out to your assigned agencies to educate them on products and promotions.
  • Use different channels; email, messaging; to communicate sales concepts to the field.
  • Participate in team meetings and ongoing training to keep your skills sharp.

The background we're looking for

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent mix of education and experience is required. You should have 1 3 years in a related field. Knowing your way around life insurance, disability income, or annuities is a big plus here.

The tech side is important: you need solid skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), illustration software, and various online tools. If you're bilingual in Spanish and English, that's preferred but not mandatory.

There are two non negotiable certifications for this role. If you don't have them already when you start, you'll need to get them within set timelines: a life/health license within six months, and either a FINRA Series 6 or Series 7 license within one year.

The deal

  • The pay is competitive; incentive program bonuses are part of the package.
  • The schedule is a flexible hybrid model working partly from our Lincoln office and partly from home.
  • You get Thrive Days for personal time off plus standard PTO.
  • Health benefits include medical, dental and vision plans. There's an HSA with an employer contribution too.
  • A 401(k) plan comes with a company match and an extra quarterly contribution from Ameritas regardless of what you put in yourself.
  • Tuition reimbursement assistance is available if you want it.
  • The benefits list goes deeper than most: well being programs with financial rewards; backup child care support; generous paid maternity/paternity leave; fertility assistance; even pet care support.
