Hey. I'm putting this out there for our store in Lexington, KY. We're looking for the person who runs the place. The one who builds the team, sets the tone, and makes sure everyone; staff and customers; has a genuinely good experience.

Journeys is a big deal in teen retail, with over 800 stores. You know the brands: Vans, Converse, Dr. Martens, UGG. But it's more than shoes; it's about that energetic, inclusive atmosphere where self expression is the whole point. We're looking for someone who gets that culture and can bring it to life every day.

What you'll do

• Meet and beat sales goals for the store and yourself.
• Handle everything from hiring and training to giving feedback and coaching your team.
• Run daily operations; you're in charge of how the store functions.
• Manage schedules, loss prevention, bank deposits; the whole operational picture.
• Make sure company initiatives are implemented properly.
• Create that fun, full service experience that keeps customers coming back.
• Solve customer issues when they pop up.

The kind of person we need

A couple things are pretty important here. You've got to want to lead a team in a busy retail spot. It's not slow. You need to be all in on creating that specific Journeys vibe.

• Prior retail management experience is preferred.
• You should have at least 1–2 years in retail sales.
• Great with people and dedicated to good customer service.
• A willingness to learn is non negotiable; you must complete all training leading up to Manager in Training or show equivalent training.
• The schedule is about 45 hours a week, including nights and weekends.
• The job involves physical work: climbing, reaching, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and standing for long periods.
• You must be at least 18 years old (age requirements for full time can vary by state).
