Forklift Operator

The Job in a Nutshell

This is a Forklift Operator (Material Handler) role with TSG - The Sheridan Group in Lexington, KY. You're basically the person who keeps the warehouse inventory accurate and makes sure the paper stock gets to the pressroom exactly when it's needed. It's a hands on job that keeps the whole print operation running smoothly.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

• Pulling paper stock based on customer specifications and matching what the pressroom schedule requires
• Keeping a precise count of all paper stock in the warehouse
• Receiving incoming paper and making sure it's available to keep the presses running without interruption
• Covering any open paper skids so they don't get damaged or spoil
• Checking that all the forklifts and equipment you use are in good working order
• Making sure everything stored in the warehouse stays organized and accounted for
• Watching out for product damage in the warehouse
• Any other tasks that come up as needed

What You Need to Bring

• A high school diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of experience on a forklift
• At least 1 year of experience on a standup order picker
• Good troubleshooting skills when something isn't working right
• The ability to read and follow written instructions
