The District Manager role in Lexington, KY is where that whole operation comes together under your leadership. You're not just managing stores; you're responsible for every store within your assigned area, and you own the full profit and loss.

What You'll Actually Do

  • Lead your store teams to create a culture that backs up Dollar General's mission and values ; "Serving Others" isn't just a slogan here.
  • Make sure human resources policies are applied fairly and consistently across every store in your district.
  • Push for superior customer service through stores that are fun and friendly.
  • Grow area annual sales to meet or exceed company targets by focusing on quality orders and efficient flow processes.
  • Use every tool available in each store and market to get inventory presentation and management right.
  • Plan and execute company objectives effectively ; no half measures.
  • Squeeze performance and productivity out of every shift by committing to sensible store scheduling.
  • Develop your people fully through proactive recruitment, selection, and education of employees (and customers too).
  • Protect company assets with solid loss prevention practices and expense efficiencies.
  • Spot new business opportunities inside your operational area ; things like distribution flow improvements, merchandising display efforts, store growth, real estate site selection, recruiting strategy, training priorities, employee relations work, customer service initiatives, systems implementations ; all of it lands on your plate.
  • Communicate divisional and regional priorities to your store teams consistently. No surprises. Everyone knows what's coming next.
