About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this NICU RN role at Centennial Hills Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. I've been placing nurses here for years, and their Women's Center is a special place. They've got a Level III NICU, which tells you the kind of acuity they handle. The hospital itself is a 336 bed facility that's part of The Valley Health System. They were ranked as High Performing in Maternity Care by U.S. News & World Report, and they run the first tobacco free campus in Nevada. It's a serious operation that takes care of its teams.

The Work

You're assuming responsibility for the shift. That means planning and providing direct and indirect nursing care for your patients, their families, and care partners.

You'll coordinate the multi disciplinary team and guide the nursing staff to make sure everyone's working toward safe, optimal health outcomes. A big part of this is providing professional leadership and support to the healthcare team around you; you'll oversee and guide the employees under your supervision.

The foundation for all care here is Patient Centered Care. And you're expected to demonstrate their Service Excellence standards, always.

First, the paperwork: you need to be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. A BSN is required.

  • Supervisory experience is a plus; anywhere from one to three years is preferred.
  • On the technical side, you must be proficient in physical assessment of cardiovascular patients and fluent in cardiovascular anatomy and physiology.

A quick note: if you were already in this position at Centennial Hills as of March 1st, 2023, with 20 or more years in the role, the bachelor’s degree requirement doesn't apply to you.
