Cash Construction is hiring a General Utility Superintendent to work out of their main spot in Las Vegas, NV. This isn't a desk job. You'll be overseeing all site activities across multiple jobsites, making sure projects finish on schedule, within budget, and with safety and quality locked in tight. You're the one who directs every trade and field person needed to get the job done. Duties shift depending on the client and project size, so the authority and responsibility vary too.
What You'll Actually Do
- Promote and follow every Company and Safety policy; safety drives success here.
- Handle all duties expected of a Superintendent Level I, II, and III.
- Supervise the overall direction, coordination, performance, and evaluation of subcontractors and field staff.
- Coordinate and supervise construction activities directly.
- Monitor crew sizes and make sure crews have the resources they need for each task.
- Manage equipment logistics and quality assurance on projects.
- Handle resource schedule management for crew and equipment.
- Ensure project schedules stay on track.
- Hire field personnel ; review applications, conduct interviews, and make final decisions.
- Mentor and train Level I and Level II Superintendents when needed.
- Carry out supervisory duties in line with company policies and applicable laws.
- Maintain the construction schedule; identify and solve problems as they come up.
- Use schedules to measure time and production against requirements.
- Keep records in a systematic, well organized way.
- Look for ways to improve the productivity analysis provided by the Project Manager.
- Communicate effectively in writing and out loud with large employee groups, owners, and engineers.
- Keep a professional appearance and build positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and coworkers.
- Interview, hire, and train your direct reports; plan, assign, and direct their work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
- Travel to different jobsites on limited notice.
- Grow the Area of Operations.
What You Need to Bring
- Ten years of experience and knowledge in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge of how to install all types of pipes: PVC, DIP, FRP, HDPE, and Fusible PVC.
- Experience with deep excavations and shoring ; we're talking 30+ feet deep.
- Wastewater treatment plant work experience, including lift stations, pump stations, and yard piping.
- A proven ability to attract top talent.
- Bilingual is a benefit, not a requirement.
- You take reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of others affected by this role, living by Cash's Zero Injury principles.
Location & Travel
This is an onsite position based at our site in the Las Vegas, NV area. Hybrid work might be possible on a case by case basis after an initial evaluation period.
