The system started with Valley Hospital Medical Center back in 1979 and now includes Centennial Hills Hospital, Spring Valley Hospital, Summerlin Hospital, Henderson Hospital, Valley Health Specialty Hospital, and West Henderson Hospital.

The core of this job is about making sure patients get the right discharge plan and that every visit gets maximum reimbursement. You'll work closely with the patient, their family, and the healthcare team to make that happen. Proactive collaboration is key ; you're not just reacting to problems, you're preventing them.

What You Need to Bring

  • A current Registered Nurse license to practice in the State of Nevada. That's non negotiable.
  • You must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • At least three years of experience in varied clinical settings is required.
  • Two years in Utilization Review, Utilization Management, or Case Management is preferred.
  • You need solid knowledge of the social and physical factors that affect a patient's functional status at discharge.
  • You should also know what community resources are available to meet post discharge clinical and social needs.
  • Computer proficiency matters here ; word processing, spreadsheets, data collection and management programs are all part of the daily toolkit.
  • You have to demonstrate the skills needed to provide care appropriate for the age group of patients on your assigned unit or department.

Benefits That Actually Matter

The compensation is solid, and so is the time off ; we're talking generous paid time off from day one. You'll get excellent medical, dental, vision and prescription drug plans. There's a 401(K) with company match plus a discounted stock plan through UHS. And they offer subsidies for things like continuing education or career advancement within VHS and UHS itself. It's a challenging but rewarding work environment where you can grow without leaving the system.
