What You'll Do

You'll act as the go between for Valley Hospital Medical Center, Information Services, and everyone else who touches the clinical information system. That means doctors, their office staff, vendors, and Corporate IS. Your main job is to keep the system running smoothly for everyone who uses it.

You track problems and get them fixed. You handle enhancement requests from users. You test new system changes before they go live. You help redesign workflows so they actually work better. And you train hospital employees and physicians on whatever's changed or needs improvement.

Travel to training sessions, meetings, or other Valley Health System facilities in Las Vegas, NV will come up as needed.

What You Need to Bring

• A current RN license in the state of Nevada. That's non negotiable.
• A diploma from an accredited school of nursing.
• At least five years of nursing experience under your belt already.
• Serious experience with clinical information systems, specifically Cerner; you should have a deepening level of responsibility behind you there.
• The ability to talk comfortably with physicians and midlevel providers about workflow problems and training on clinical applications and process improvements.
• A natural confidence when interacting with doctors and clinicians at any level; if that part makes you nervous, this isn't the role for you.
• Solid basic computer skills plus Microsoft Office experience. That includes Word, Excel, Outlook ; the usual tools.
• English fluency with excellent written and spoken communication skills is required.
• Some leadership attributes; you don't need to be a manager to influence people here.
• The knowledge and skills necessary to care for patients across different ages ; newborns through elderly ; depending on where you're assigned that day or unit shift.
