About This Role

The Role

This is a Clinical Nurse Coordinator position at HCA HealthONE Belmar ER in Lakewood, CO. You'll work in a freestanding emergency setting, and the job is about keeping things running smoothly during your shift. Think of it as the person who makes sure patients get seen, staff get supported, and the unit works like it should.

You won't just be doing patient care here. You'll also have a hand in how the whole department functions. That means helping with admissions and discharges, making sure patients move through efficiently, and stepping in when something goes wrong to fix it. You'll work with other managers and subject matter experts to keep an environment where teamwork actually happens. If a patient or family has a complaint, you're the one who jumps in for service recovery ; you support that patient first philosophy directly.

You'll also be involved in the behind the scenes stuff that makes a unit work. Scheduling staff. Managing labor hours against productivity goals. Keeping track of supplies and equipment so nothing runs out. And you'll have input on hiring and training new people too. When someone needs coaching or a performance review, that falls to you. You'll even handle personnel policy compliance and disciplinary actions when necessary.

What You'll Actually Do Day to Day

  • Help with admission and discharge processes to keep patients moving at the right pace
  • Work with other managers to regularly assess the quality of patient care services in the unit
  • Partner with subject matter experts to build a team environment focused on better outcomes and service
  • Support a patient first approach, including stepping into service recovery situations
  • Operationalize nursing strategies like employee rounding and hourly rounding to improve engagement
  • Give recommendations on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff
  • Handle training and development, conflict resolution, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions
  • Manage staff scheduling and labor hours according to patient needs and productivity standards
  • Oversee inventory control and help manage supplies and equipment

Licenses and Certifications You Need

  • Current RN license in Colorado, or a current active multistate nursing license
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing ; BSN is preferred
  • Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC
  • Current ACLS certification from AHA or ARC
  • Current PALS certification from AHA or ARC
  • Current TNCC certification
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification ; you have 90 days from your start date to get this

Experience and Skills We're Looking For

We prefer candidates with at least two years of clinical RN experience. Two years of progressive supervisory or charge nurse experience is also preferred. You should be able to articulate and demonstrate real knowledge of nursing theory and practice. And you need to handle both direct patient care and charge nurse responsibilities at the same time.

You should recognize people's needs and concerns easily and maintain constructive relationships. You'll communicate clearly in writing and in person. You'll participate in counseling and guiding personnel. And you need to step into a leadership role with the health team when it comes to planning and delivering patient care.

Other things that matter: competence with patient care information systems. Strong planning and analytical skills, plus solid written communication. You should be able to use the nursing process yourself and coach others to do the same. Database, spreadsheet, and word processing skills are needed for analyzing statistical reports. And you should be able to educate, coach, and mentor staff using adult learning principles.

Pay Range

The hourly wage for this role is estimated between $43.57 and $62.29 per hour. That range is based on what typical candidates are hired at. Your actual pay may depend on your specific skills, how many years of experience you have, and how you compare to other employees already in this role. Most people hired into this position come in below the midpoint of the range.
