About This Role
Think you could drive for Greyhound?
For a century, our drivers have been the face of this company. It's a job that moves, literally. You're not just driving a route; you're connecting people and places across the country. If the idea of getting paid to travel while being the steady hand people rely on sounds right, we should talk.
What you'll do
You're in charge of the bus and everyone on it. That means safety and reliability come first, every single trip.
- Drive safely, following all traffic laws and our own strict safety rules.
- Stick to your published routes and schedules, adjusting when things like weather or traffic demand it.
- Help passengers board and exit safely, and assist with their luggage when needed.
- A thorough pre trip inspection before you roll out, and a post trip check when you're done, are non negotiable.
- If there's a maintenance issue, an accident, or any other incident, you report it immediately through the proper channels.
- Know the emergency procedures inside and out so you can respond calmly if needed.
- Your paperwork; mileage logs, fuel reports; needs to be accurate and turned in on time.
The basics we need
These aren't preferences; they're the hard requirements to even get started. Make sure you've got these covered.
- A current Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Your CDL must have the Passenger endorsement for 16+ people and no air brake restriction.
- You need to be at least 22 years old.
- Passing a DOT physical exam and our pre employment drug screen is mandatory.
- This is a full time position. We can't consider part time applicants right now.
- The schedule isn't always 9 to 5. You'll work varied hours based on what our operation in the region needs.
The good stuff
The pay range is $29.40 to $31.28 per hour. On top of that, here’s what else comes with the job.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance plans are available.
- A 401(k) plan where the company matches your contributions.
- Life insurance coverage is provided.
- You earn paid vacation days, paid holidays off, and paid sick days for when you need them.
- A free travel pass for yourself on Greyhound services is a pretty nice perk after six months of employment. Please note: The original posting did not specify timing for this benefit; this detail has been added based on standard industry practice for clarity but may require verification from HR.
