X Ray Technologist at Urgent Team in Knoxville, TN
Urgent Team is looking for an experienced X Ray Technologist to work at our Knoxville, TN center. This isn't a training position ; we need someone who already knows their way around radiology equipment and patient care.
In this job, you'll perform x ray testing using your knowledge of anatomy and physiology. You'll operate diagnostic equipment, develop film, and prep the room with the right tools and supplies for each procedure. And yes, you'll also handle some Medical Assistant duties.
What you'll actually do day to day
- Greet patients when they walk into the waiting area, exam room, or x ray room
- Keep patients updated on wait times and let them know what's next in their treatment process
- Solve patient problems as they come up, and recognize when a situation is urgent or hazardous so you can get help fast
- Make follow up calls quickly ; no dragging your feet on those
- Help the front desk team check patients in or out when things get busy
- Take and record vital signs, weight, and a brief history including past medical info, family history, social history, current meds, allergies ; anything that matters for the visit
- Assist with moving patients from one spot to another
- Help out during procedures under direct supervision of the provider
- Complete all required documentation related to each patient visit
- Perform radiology procedures on time so the attending physician can evaluate and treat patients promptly
- Run quality control checks to make sure every exam meets standards
- Prepare patients for radiologic procedures while following clinical and regulatory rules about safety ; proper radiation protection and shielding techniques included
- Check that equipment is working right; report any problems to the Manager or provider on duty
- Stay current on diagnostic imaging knowledge through outside educational resources
- Keep your own licensure active ; it's your responsibility to maintain what's needed for the facility's radiology equipment
The schedule
(Full time)
The schedule rotates between 36 and 40 hours per week. You'll work 12 hour weekday shifts plus every other weekend. It's standard shift work with a predictable pattern once you're settled in.

Scheduled only as needed.
What you need to have going in
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A current BLS Certification
- A valid AR State X Ray License
- (Preferred): ARRT Certification (ARRT Registered), plus experience as a Medical Assistant
