About This Role
What This Job Is
This is a traveling Superintendent role for someone who prefers being in the field over sitting in an office. You'll lead crews on geotechnical and civil construction projects, mostly slope stabilization work. The company offers stable, year round work with real room to grow ; they're employee owned, so you get equity on top of your salary.
What You'll Actually Do
- Lead on site crews installing slope stabilization and other geotechnical systems
- Make sure every jobsite follows the site specific safety plans ; safety isn't just a poster on the wall here
- Run the project from start to finish, keeping everything on time and within budget
- Keep daily documentation: logs, progress reports, as builts ; the paperwork that keeps a job honest
- Support crew performance, offer training, and help people develop their skills
- Oversee tools, equipment, and vehicles; make sure everything's maintained and ready
- Handle quality control and make sure everything meets project specs
- Talk regularly with clients, engineers, and internal teams ; clear communication keeps things moving
What You Need to Bring
The non negotiables are straightforward. You need 5+ years in construction (civil or geotechnical experience is preferred). At least 1 year working as a Superintendent or similar leadership role. You have to be able to read scopes of work, specs, and plans like it's second nature.
You'll need to work at jobsites for 3 4 weeks at a time before heading home. That means you're comfortable living out of a suitcase for stretches. A valid driver's license is required; if you have a CDL A that's even better.
You should be comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions ; this isn't a climate controlled gig. And you'll need real leadership skills: motivating a crew when things get tough matters more than any certification.
The Compensation and Perks
- A competitive salary with paid travel covered
- Equity ; this is an employee owned company, so you actually own part of it
- Per diem for meals and lodging while you're traveling
- A 401(k) with company match takes care of your future too
- Health insurance covers medical stuff you'd expect; dental and vision are included as well
