Social Worker

Saint Luke's Hospital on the Plaza is hiring a full time Social Worker. This isn't a generalist role; it’s built around medication access and compliance, working directly with patients who are uninsured or underinsured to get them the prescriptions they need.

The Work

You'll provide specialized social work focused on medication assistance. That means you're the point person for finding affordable, life sustaining drugs through various programs and resources.

• Collaborate with the Care Progression team to identify patients who need help affording their medications.
• Work one on one with those patients to navigate and secure resources.
• Partner with patients and community organizations to increase medication compliance, which directly improves health outcomes.
• Function as part of a multidisciplinary patient care team.
• The role can also include helping with program development, evaluation, professional education, or supervising students and BSW staff.

Schedule & Environment

This is a Monday through Friday position, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. There are no weekends or holidays. You'll be based in our inpatient environment at the Plaza location in Kansas City, MO.

What You Need

• A Master’s degree in Social Work is required.
• You must be a Certified LMSW or LCSW in Missouri.
• We're looking for at least two years of applicable experience.
• Previous hospital and discharge planning experience is strongly preferred.
• Direct experience with medication assistance programs is also strongly preferred.
• The ideal candidate has a proven ability to help uninsured or underinsured patients find affordable medications; that’s the core of this job.
