Shift Manager

What you'll do running the deli

As a Shift Manager in our hot deli at Pilot Flying J in Kansas City, MO, you're the one making sure things run smoothly when the Manager isn't around. You'll supervise the team, keep an eye on food freshness, and make sure everything stays clean and well stocked. Guest service is a big part of it too; you set the tone for how customers feel when they walk up to that counter.

You work directly with the Deli Manager to keep standards high. That means watching over food prep, checking temperatures, and making sure we're following food safety rules every step of the way. When something needs restocking or cleaning, you handle it or get someone on it fast.

What you need to bring

• A background in foodservice or restaurant work ; this isn't your first rodeo
• Solid customer service instincts; you know how to keep people coming back
• The ability to handle equipment maintenance according to food safety standards
• Comfort working with everyone from hourly team members up to corporate reps and vendors
• A schedule that can flex ; nights, days, weekends, holidays; it's all part of this role
• Basic knowledge of food safety standards (you don't need a certification yet, but it helps if you have one)

Starting pay lands somewhere between $15.70 and $23.33 an hour depending on your experience.
