About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this one. We're working with a law firm in Kansas City, MO that has a reputation I don't see every day. They've been a top name for decades, known for doing the same quality of work as the biggest firms but at a significantly lower cost. Their client list runs the gamut from brand new startups to Fortune 500 companies, and they've built incredible loyalty. They're looking for a Partner to join their Litigation group, and they have the financials and retention rates to back up everything they're offering.
The Role
This is for an experienced litigator who's ready to operate as a full Partner. You need to bring your own book of business with you; ideally one that's at or above the $1 million mark. You'll lead on complex litigation matters from discovery through trial, acting as first chair. A big part of this is maintaining and growing those client relationships you bring in, while also helping mentor the junior attorneys on the team. It's a role for someone who wants to be a key part of the firm's continued growth.
What You Need to Bring
- A J.D. from an accredited law school and an active license to practice in Massachusetts.
- At least eight years of hands on litigation experience, including first chair trial work and managing discovery.
- A portable book of business; this is non negotiable.
- Your analytical skills have to be sharp; you're solving complex problems daily.
- You can write persuasively and argue effectively in court; your communication needs to be top tier.
- You're interested in guiding less experienced attorneys, not just handling your own caseload.
The Details & What They Offer
The salary range here is $250,000 to $500,000 per year, depending on your portable business and experience.
They run a hybrid schedule, so you won't be chained to an office desk five days a week. The culture gets highlighted for being collaborative without being cutthroat; you're working with bright people who actually want to win together. Because the firm's practice is so diversified, you can often serve as a one stop shop for clients, which is huge for startups juggling multiple legal needs at once. They also provide dedicated business development resources to help you grow your practice once you're in the door.
