About This Role
What You’ll Actually Do Day to Day
You’ll assemble material and labor costs for client proposals on construction projects. This means digging into plans, figuring out what a job really needs, and putting a number on it. You’ll handle subcontractor solicitation and pre qualification work, too.
- Analyze and insert pricing for specialty and standard equipment and materials into estimates
- Make sure each estimate matches the schedule protocols and specifications in the scope of work
- Evaluate and condition subcontractor and supplier quotes before they go into a bid
- Review plans and specs thoroughly to complete accurate estimates
The Background We Need From You
This isn’t an entry level spot. You need real experience in electrical construction estimating.
- 3 to 5 years working as an estimator in electrical construction (or equivalent experience)
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field ; but we’ll consider applicable experience instead of a degree
Skills That Help You Hit the Ground Running
You should be solid with Microsoft Office Suite ; that’s required. If you know Trimble Accubid v16, even better (it’s preferred). Beyond software, you’ve got strong time management chops, can juggle multiple tasks without dropping anything important, and get along well with people. Researching specs, writing clear proposals, and presenting your findings out loud are all part of this role.
The Benefits Package (It's Actually Good)
The base salary is competitive for the industry. And then there's the rest:
- Fully paid medical insurance for you and your immediate family ; no premium coming out of your check
- Dental insurance covered at 100% for you and your family too
- Vision insurance also fully paid for employees and dependents
- A 401(k) retirement plan so you can save for later
- Profit sharing that puts money back in your pocket when the company does well
- Paid time off plus holiday pay because everyone needs a break sometimes
- A full benefits program built around physical health, mental wellness, and financial stability ; not just the bare minimum insurance package
