Waterway Carwash·Kansas City, MO

About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this detailer job at Waterway in Kansas City, MO. I've been placing people here for a while. It's not your typical "stand around" part time gig. You're outside, you're moving, and you're working directly on the cars from start to finish. If you like being active and don't mind a little weather, this could be a good fit.

What you'd do

You're the final touch on a car's wash. Your team makes sure the inside is spotless and the outside is perfectly dried and finished, based on what package the customer bought. It's about making sure they drive away happy with how their car looks.

  • Greet customers, help them in and out of their vehicles, and give clear instructions.
  • You'll drive cars onto the conveyor, select the right wash, and send it through.
  • Keeping an eye on traffic flow and the tunnel for safety is a big part of it.
  • The job keeps the site clean too. That means picking up trash, sweeping, hosing down areas, shoveling snow, and salting walkways in winter.
  • There's upkeep work like washing towels, stocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and emptying trash.
  • You'll follow all safety policies and procedures to the letter.

What you need to bring

A few non negotiables here. We need to see these right up front.

  • You must speak and understand English fluently for talking with your team, managers, and customers.
  • The schedule can include weekends, extended hours, overtime, and holidays. Reliable attendance is key.

The physical side of things

Be honest with yourself about this part. It's an active job with real conditions.

  • You're outdoors all year. That's sun, rain, heat, cold, humidity; all of it.
  • You'll be around wet surfaces, gasoline fumes, exhaust fumes, and machinery with moving parts. The tunnel is briefly loud when cars go through.
  • Expect lots of standing, bending over cars reaching above your head or down low lifting up to 50 pounds now and then driving different vehicles all shift long working at a consistent fast pace while staying calm under pressure is part of it too far near peripheral vision depth perception hearing speech clearly over other noises like alarms or engines are all required
