Taco Bell

Shift Manager

Taco Bell·Kansas City, KS

About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this Shift Manager spot at our Taco Bell in Kansas City, KS. I've been placing people here for years, and it's a real operation; part of a big group that still tries to keep that crew feel. They're looking for someone who can run a shift like they own it.

What you'd be doing

You're the one in charge when you're on the clock. That means running a smooth shift, leading the team, and making sure every customer gets what they came for: good food, fast.

  • You'll greet everyone, keep things positive with guests and your team, and handle any customer issues that pop up.
  • Leading by example is key. You'll make sure the team looks sharp in their uniforms and gets their tasks done right and on time.
  • A big part of this is training and giving feedback; both the "great job" kind and the "here's how we can do this better" kind.
  • You're also keeping an eye on the business side of things. Think cash handling, inventory counts, and labor management during your shift.
  • And you'll be talking regularly with the General Manager about how the team is performing.

The stuff you need to have

This isn't an entry level gig. They need someone who's been around a restaurant and knows how to steer the ship.

  • You've gotta be at least 18 years old.
  • Bring at least one year of restaurant experience to the table, with solid proof you've led shifts before.
  • A current Health Card (based on local rules) is required from day one.
  • Solid basics in math and reading are necessary. You also need to be able to read, speak, understand, and write in English clearly.
  • Reliable transportation is non negotiable.
  • You'll need to pass a criminal background check.
  • They'll require you to pass the ServSafe Certification course and exam once you're hired.

The details & what you get

The pay starts between $16.00 and $16.75 an hour. Where you land depends on your experience and what hours you can work.

The benefits here have some unique pieces. There's a grant program for employees facing tough life or financial situations, plus discounts just for staff. You get access to an Employee Assistance Program, referral bonuses, and education benefits like GED reimbursement or free second language courses. They also offer DailyPay, so you don't always have to wait for payday. And there's a scholarship program tied to their "Live Mas" motto.

A bit about DRG

You'd be working for Diversified Restaurant Group (DRG), not Taco Bell corporate directly. They started with about 30 locations over a decade ago and have grown to run more than 240 spots across a few brands now. The core values they talk about are Respect, Integrity, Passion, Accountability, Commitment, and Teamwork. It sounds cheesy until you see a team that actually tries to live by it; then it just feels like how work should be.

How to apply

A quick but important note: You're applying to Diversified Restaurant Group, a franchise operator for Taco Bell. If you're hired, DRG is your employer. Franchisees set their own pay scales and benefits programs independently from the corporate brand.

If running the show during a busy shift sounds like your kind of challenge; where you solve problems instead of just pointing them out; then put your name in. Let's see if it's a fit.
