About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this Assistant Manager spot at our Taco Bell in Kansas City, KS. I've been doing this a while, and I can tell you this isn't just a "fill a shift" kind of job. You're the right hand person to the General Manager, and when they're not there, you're running the show. That means keeping everything on brand and making sure the team is set up for success. It's a big role, but if you're organized and know how to lead people, it's a solid step up.

What You'll Be Doing

Your main focus is supporting the restaurant and the GM. You'll manage shifts from start to finish and help with the administrative side of things.

  • You need to understand every single position in the building; you should be able to jump in and do any job.
  • Overseeing team members and Shift Managers is key. Your goal is making sure they finish their duties and serve safe, high quality food that's timely and friendly.
  • The restaurant has to be a safe place, both for your crew and for customers walking in.
  • You're responsible for getting all team member training and certifications done on schedule.
  • All health, safety, state, and local rules have to be followed. No shortcuts.
  • A big part of this is helping develop Shift Managers and other future leaders on your team.
  • You'll assist the GM with maintaining the restaurant itself.
  • That includes helping find, interview, hire, and onboard new people.
  • And you'll work with the GM to keep financial results strong and consistent.

The Stuff You Need

Let's get into qualifications. We need someone who's ready for this pace.

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • We need at least two years of restaurant experience. And we need proof you've led shifts successfully before.
  • A High School Diploma is required.
  • You have to read, speak, understand, and write in English effectively.
  • A current Health Card (following your state or local rules) is mandatory.
  • Reliable transportation? Absolutely necessary.
  • Everyone has to pass a Criminal Background Check, which includes an MVR check.
  • Passing the SERV Safe Certification Course and Exam is non negotiable; we'll get you through it if needed.

The Practical Details

The schedule isn't a typical 9 to 5. Plan on it being about 50 hours a week. You'll need open availability; that means nights, weekends, holidays; it really depends on what the business needs at any given time. Be ready for that rhythm. The starting pay lands between $17.00 and $18.00 an hour. Where you fall in that range depends on your specific experience…and what kind of availability you can offer us.
