About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this one. We're looking for someone to lead the electrical preconstruction charge on some serious government and defense projects. This isn't just about counting light fixtures; it's about shaping strategy from the very first sketch. You'd be based out of Jacksonville, FL with a hybrid setup; two days a week working from home is the standard here.

The Work

You'll run point on electrical preconstruction for multiple major projects, primarily big government pursuits. That means you're the go to for everything electrical before a shovel hits the dirt.

  • Overseeing the whole electrical scope: development, budgeting, design coordination, and scheduling.
  • Partnering with Estimating, Operations, and leadership to nail down project strategy and set it up for success.
  • Building conceptual budgets and planning for all things electrical and low voltage, like data systems.
  • Figuring out procurement strategies and planning for equipment that takes forever to get here.
  • Spotting risks early, driving value engineering, and leading constructability reviews.
  • Mentoring folks on the preconstruction team and helping implement better ways of doing things.
  • Making absolutely sure everything meets Department of Defense standards and follows best practices.

What You Absolutely Need

We need someone who's been in the trenches and knows this specific world inside out.

  • A solid decade in the electrical construction industry.
  • At least five years focused on electrical preconstruction, estimating, or project management.
  • A proven background with Department of Defense projects; NAVFAC vertical construction experience is key.
  • A strong history working within a design build project delivery method.
  • Hands on experience with conceptual estimating and managing full electrical scopes of work.
  • You're proficient with tools like Bluebeam, P6 (Primavera), Autodesk Construction Cloud, McCormick estimating software, or something similar.
  • You must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • The ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and satisfy DoD clearance requirements is non negotiable.
  • A willingness to travel when project needs call for it. Travel reimbursement and per diem are provided when you're out on assignment.

The Nice to Haves

A few things that would make your resume really stand out:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Equivalent direct experience works too. Experience supporting large scale government construction projects; we're talking big ones over $35 million. Some familiarity with telecommunications and data systems design alongside core electrical knowledge.

The Details & What You Get

The salary goes up to $125k annually; where you land depends directly on your experience. On top of that, there's an annual performance bonus. The schedule is hybrid based in Jacksonville, FL, with two remote days each week. You get comprehensive medical insurance plus dental and vision coverage. There's a 401(k) plan with a company match.
