Senior Civil Engineer
A respected engineering organization in Jacksonville, FL is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer. You'd be working on high impact projects, mostly for the U.S. military. The role comes with a hybrid schedule where you work from home two days a week ; that's Thursdays and Fridays remote. They've also got relocation support if you're coming from outside the area.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage multiple civil engineering projects that follow U.S. military design standards
- Develop site plans, grading designs, and detailed drainage solutions
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and make sure quality standards are met
- Resolve complex design and construction challenges when they come up
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to support strategy and project delivery goals
- Mentor junior staff and promote best practices across the department
What You Need
- A BS in Civil Engineering is required
- An active Professional Engineer (P.E.) License is also required
- 10 to 12 or more years of civil design experience focused on industrial construction ; land development, building pads, site infrastructure type work
- At least 6 years of experience in drainage, grading, and utility design specifically
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Word, and MS Excel
- The ability and willingness to travel to project sites as needed
Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience managing projects for the Department of Defense (DoD)
- A collaborative mindset with a genuine interest in solving problems
- Previous mentoring or leadership experience within engineering teams
Benefits & Compensation Overview
The base salary range is $125k to $175k depending on your experience. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage plus a 401(k) with company match. There's paid vacation time along with sick leave and holidays. The hybrid schedule lets you work remotely on Thursdays and Fridays each week. Relocation assistance is available if you're coming from out of the area.
