Chief Medical Officer

What This Role Is About

ChenMed is growing fast, and we need a Clinical Director ; a Chief Medical Officer working out of our Jacksonville, FL center ; who can lead primary care providers while also seeing their own patients. This isn't a desk job. You'll split your time between direct patient care and leadership, coaching PCPs to deliver better outcomes and building a culture where clinical quality and operational efficiency actually work together.

The exact split depends on how many providers you supervise, what the market needs, how big your center is, and guidance from your Market Clinical Director. Some weeks you're more hands on with patients. Other weeks you're deeper in mentoring, rounding with providers, and driving performance.

What You'll Actually Do

• Treat older adult patients with acute and chronic illnesses ; you own the outcomes from diagnosis through treatment, coordination, education, health promotion, and documentation
• Lead your care team (medical assistant, care facilitator, care coordinator) for patients who come into the office; for hospital, SNF, LTC or homebound patients you coordinate with transitional care teams, case managers, acute care physicians and other local resources
• Run Super Huddle (SH) and Transforming Care Meeting (TCM) every week; step in as clinical leader when your Center Manager or General Manager doesn't have one available (under direction of your Market CMO)
• Fill in for center clinical leadership needs like monitoring daily census as part of joint accountability for outcomes
• Cover for other providers who are out for various reasons
• Manage mentor train coach PCPs in your center ; sample their daily huddles do leadership rounding with them partner with Center Operations Director or Market General Manager to improve financial performance and grow membership numbers
• Recruit patients for the center recruit interview potential new providers when needed
• Stay involved even when a patient is hospitalized ; engage with that hospitalist directly regardless of whether they work for ChenMed
• Takes full accountability for each patient's detailed care plan consulting specialists but not handing off responsibility entirely
• Other duties as assigned modified at manager discretion

What You Need to Bring (Knowledge Skills Education Experience)

Certs & Degrees:

• MD or DO in Internal Medicine Family Medicine Geriatrics or similar specialty required
• Active unrestricted MD license in state of employment required right now not pending not someday soon current required before you start
