What This Janitor Role Is All About

This is a janitor position with MasterCorp based out of Irvine, CA. You'll be cleaning commercial properties, not just residential. The work is physical and you'll need to keep up with both quality and time standards. If you've got a thing for making spaces spotless and you don't mind moving around all day, this could be a good fit.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

The job is straightforward: you clean. But there's a lot that goes into it. Here's the rundown of what you'll handle each day:

• Emptying trash receptacles
• Vacuuming carpets and rugs
• Dust mopping and sweeping hard surface floors
• Wet mopping hard surface floors
• Cleaning units ; restrooms, kitchens, lobbies, you name it
• Wiping spots and smudges off entry doors
• Dusting horizontal surfaces when they're cleared off
• High dusting (the stuff you can't normally reach)
• Dusting windowsills and blinds
• Performing surgical cleaning in a medical facility
• Reporting maintenance issues with units
• Reporting damaged, dirty, or stained carpets, drapes, furniture, and linens
• Reporting inventory and supply needs to your Supervisor
• Reporting any lost and found items
• Helping keep storage closets clean and organized
• Making sure you're working in a safe environment at every site and office
• Using supplies and equipment wisely ; not wasting anything
• Using your time efficiently to get the job done

What You Need to Bring

No formal experience is required, but janitorial experience is definitely a plus. What matters more is your attitude. Here's what we're looking for:

• A genuine passion for cleanliness
• A strong work ethic ; you show up and get it done
• You're able to learn and change your behavior as needed
• You can work irregular hours (this isn't always a 9 to 5 schedule)
• Travel is rare but possible

The Physical Side of the Job

This role involves a lot of movement. You'll be standing, walking, pushing, pulling, moving things, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, and reaching. There's also occasional climbing stairs or ladders and repetitive motions. If you have a disability that needs a reasonable accommodation to perform these tasks, we can work with that.

Schedule and Pay

Starting pay is $15 per hour. You can choose between full time or part time hours ; both are available and you can start immediately after being hired. Training is paid.
