About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this Telemetry RN spot at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, IN. I've been placing nurses here for years, and this unit is a serious stepdown environment. You need to know what you're doing.

The Role

You'll be on a 46 bed high acuity unit. The patient to nurse ratio runs from 1:3 to 1:4. Your patients are coming straight from the ER or getting transferred out of the Trauma Neuro ICU and the MICU. You'll see a wide range of neuro diagnoses; think trauma injuries, craniotomies, laminectomies, and discectomies.

A big part of this job is acting as the clinical liaison for your patients and their families. That means translating complex medical plans into clear, compassionate language they can actually understand.

And you're not an island. Effective team collaboration is non negotiable here. You'll be involved in rapid response situations and expected to take initiative.

What You Absolutely Need

  • A Registered Nurse credential from the Indiana Board of Nursing. You must have this before your hire date or transfer date.
  • A BLS Provider certification. It has to be from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, and you need to get it within one month (30 days) of starting.
  • The education requirement is a diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing OR the required professional licensure at the time of hire.
