About This Role

What You’ll Be Doing

This role is about leading a team of Route Drivers and Route Sales reps in Indianapolis, IN. You’ll own the profitability and growth of both current and potential customers, while keeping the market center’s total managed volume on track. Building a strong service and safety culture is part of it, along with using your leadership skills to push performance, grow the base business, and strengthen client partnerships.

  • Drive route sales execution ; make sure it runs smoothly every day.
  • Handle route service issues for clients. When something needs attention, you’ll visit client sites to follow up or evaluate what’s going on.
  • Own communication at every level of the organization. Keep everyone informed.
  • Plan, schedule, assign, and monitor daily route assignments so clients get serviced according to company standards and agreements.
  • Give ongoing feedback to route sales employees ; recognition where it’s due, coaching on things like growth opportunities, performance productivity, sales skills, service partnerships, safety, equipment operation, routing, vehicle inspection, and reducing risk of losing clients.
  • Maintain all business records: personnel files, delivery and invoice records, product and asset inventories, DOT requirements., client sales contacts and pricing data ; anything that needs documenting or tracking.

What You Need to Bring

  • A minimum of 2–4 years experience in transportation , logistics , or a related field .
  • Prior management or supervisory experience is preferred .
  • A Bachelor ‘ s degree is preferred .
  • A valid driver ‘ s license . You also need to be able to get DOT certification so you can operate vehicles regulated by DOT .
  • A clean driving record for at least five years . No exceptions there .
  • You should be solid with client interaction , strong communication , organization / time management , multitasking , and computer skills . Those are critical here .
  • The ability to work efficiently on your own without someone breathing down your neck .
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office ; specifically Word , PowerPoint , Excel . That ' s nonnegotiable .

The Compensation & Benefits Package

The salary range for this position is $65 ,000 to $70 ,000 per year. If the two numbers end up being identical when an offer comes together?
