The Gig: Senior Director of Sales at LakeHouse Senior Living

LakeHouse Senior Living runs Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care communities across several states. They've been named a Great Place to Work every year from 2022 through 2026. They're looking for a Senior Director of Sales to work in and around Indianapolis, IN. This isn't a desk job. It's a hands on sales role, pure and simple.

You'll start working Monday through Friday at the Northside Indianapolis community. Once you hit occupancy goals there, you'll move to support other Indiana communities that have vacancies, sales trouble, or new hires who need training. You'll travel throughout Indiana as needed.

What You'll Actually Do

You own the whole sales process from first phone call to move in day. Here's what that looks like day to day:

  • Manage every lead from initial inquiry through lease signing and move in.
  • Give community tours that create real urgency and emotional connection for prospects and their families.
  • Guide people through the sales process with strong customer relationships.
  • Handle discovery conversations, objections, follow ups, and closing techniques.
  • Keep your lead management and follow up consistent inside the CRM system.
  • Conduct lease signings and make sure the move in experience goes smoothly.
  • Work alongside Executive Directors and other leaders to hit occupancy and revenue targets.
  • Give daily sales updates and share progress on occupancy strategy with leadership.
  • Pull and analyze sales reports ; lead activity, conversion ratios, occupancy trends, move in metrics.
  • Stay accountable for your pipeline management and sales execution.

Occupancy Growth and Community Support

Your main job is driving occupancy up through aggressive, strategic sales work. But you'll also:

  • Support communities that are underperforming or going through leadership vacancies.
  • Help with occupancy recovery plans and stabilization efforts.
  • Evaluate local market conditions and competitive positioning to find sales opportunities.
  • Support communities with event execution, outreach initiatives, and referral development.
  • Identify what's blocking sales and create action plans to fix it.

External Business Development

  • Build and maintain relationships with referral sources ; hospitals, physicians, rehab centers, local community partners.
  • Do professional outreach and networking to generate qualified leads.
  • Plan and run local marketing events and community engagement opportunities.
  • Document referral activities and professional relationships in the CRM system.

Multi Site and Travel Support

  • Travel throughout Indiana based on where the sales and occupancy needs are.
  • Provide temporary sales coverage during vacancies or transitions.
  • Support onboarding and mentorship for new Directors of Sales.
  • Help with sales process training and accountability initiatives.
  • Adapt quickly to different communities, operational styles, and market conditions.

Leadership and Professional Expectations

  • Participate in leadership meetings and community initiatives as assigned.
  • Represent LakeHouse Senior Living with professionalism and integrity.
  • Stay current on senior living industry trends, occupancy strategies, and sales best practices.
  • Support a culture of accountability, collaboration, and performance excellence.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

What You Need to Bring

  • At least five years of direct senior living sales experience. No exceptions.
  • A proven track record selling Independent Living, Assisted Living, or Memory Care.
  • Demonstrated history of hitting occupancy and revenue goals.
  • Strong closing skills and the ability to turn leads into move ins.
  • Experience working with CRM systems and managing sales pipelines.
  • Solid communication, presentation, and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and stay self motivated.
