Safety Engineer

What you'd be doing

• Create and manage strategies to keep plant operations safe and consistent.
• When equipment fails or goes down, you lead the charge to find out why.
• You don't just find problems; you recommend and put in place fixes that last.
• Teaming up with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations to fine tune how we do maintenance.
• Looking at performance data to spot trends; good or bad; and acting on them.
• Helping roll out predictive maintenance tech and condition monitoring programs.
• Making sure all maintenance work gets documented properly.
• A big part of the job is fostering a culture where safety, quality, and always looking for a better way are just how things are done.

What you need to bring

You should have a background in maintenance, reliability, or troubleshooting equipment in a plant setting. Knowing how to perform a root cause analysis and use reliability centered maintenance methods is key.

• A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent experience in the field.
• At least two years working in a manufacturing environment.
• You need to be okay with the pace of a plant floor and working directly with production teams every day.
• Familiarity with CMMS platforms and standard maintenance workflows is required.
• It'd be great if you had some knowledge of PLC systems and control logic.
• Any experience managing projects in manufacturing is a plus.

The practical details

The pay range for this position is $63,000 to $93,000 per year. The actual salary will depend on your specific experience, skillset, and location. Relocation assistance is available if you need it. They'll give preference to candidates already living near Indianapolis, IN, but they're considering everyone. This is an onsite role at the facility.
