About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this Interventional Rad Tech spot we've got open at Seton Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN. It's a PRN gig, which means the schedule rotates based on what the department needs. You're not locked into a set shift every week.

What you'd be doing

You'd be running advanced diagnostic imaging for interventional, vascular, and therapeutic procedures. The work is all about supporting accurate diagnosis and treatment planning with high quality images.

  • Getting patients ready and positioning them correctly.
  • Selecting the right anatomic and technical parameters for each case to get the best image quality and keep things safe.
  • Giving contrast media and medications as allowed by your scope of practice.
  • Keeping an eye on patient status during procedures and letting the Radiologist and team know right away if anything seems off.
  • Your clinical documentation goes into the Electronic Health Record, so it needs to be complete and compliant.

The credentials you need to walk in with

The paperwork is specific. You'll need these before you start or very soon after.

  • A Radiologic Technologist credential from the Texas Medical Board. That one's non negotiable and required upfront.
  • You also need at least one of these registrations, obtained prior to hire: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist from CCI; Cardiographic Tech specializing in Electrophysiology from CCI; or a Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography from ARRT. They also accept ARRT certifications in Vascular Interventional, Cardiac Interventional, or Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography.
  • A BLS Provider certification has to be obtained within your first month. They take it from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.

A couple other certs aren't required but they'd really like to see them: Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), again from AHA or Red Cross.

Education & experience

You've got a few paths to qualify here. A High School diploma plus 2 years of cumulative experience works. So does an Associate's or Technical degree. If you don't have a degree, 4 years of applicable, job specific experience will do it.
