The Role
You'll report directly to the VP of Finance and CFO. Your main job is leading all accounting operations for this multi site healthcare organization.
- You own the entire monthly close process. That means journal entries, financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and payroll tie outs.
- Conducting variance analysis, comparing actuals to budget and prior year performance.
- Maintaining and improving accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in line with GAAP.
- You'll be the main point of contact coordinating the annual 401(k) audit with external auditors.
- Leading the accounting team. We're talking hiring, training, and performance management.
- Oversight of payroll processing and banking activities.
- Supporting the budget preparation process.
- Tackling ad hoc reporting requests and special projects as they come up.
What You Need to Have
The basics are non negotiable here; it's a complex environment that needs specific experience.
- A minimum of five years in healthcare accounting or finance. You need hands on experience preparing financial statements in this sector.
- At least three years managing an accounting team.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required. An MBA or CPA certification would give you a strong edge.
- Experience working within a medical group or physician network is a significant plus.
- You have to be strong in Excel. You also need to be comfortable interacting with auditors and adapting to new financial systems.
The Practical Details
The salary range for this position is $145,000 to $155,000 per year. The schedule is on site, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.
