Dentist
About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this dentist role. I've been placing folks with Benevis and their Pippin Dental offices for a while now. They're serious about that mission; providing care to families who often don't have a lot of options. If you're the type of dentist who gets energy from a busy practice focused on kids and wants your work to mean something in the community, read on.
The Work
You'll provide dental services with a full support team around you. The patient base is mostly kids; about 70% or more are under 21. The rest are adults, usually up to about 30% of the practice depending on the specific office.
A typical day involves seeing an average of 10 12 operative patients and supporting 20 25 hygiene patients. You won't be doing this alone. The setup is built to support you.
- The practice uses DentaPro software.
- You've got digital x ray and Panorex units.
- Fiber optic handpieces are standard.
- The staffing ratio is solid: 1 hygienist, 1 hygiene assistant, and 2 dental assistants per doctor.
- You'll get yearly training for OSHA, HIPAA, and Emergency Management protocols.
Schedule & Pay
This is a specific part time schedule: Fridays and Saturdays only. That's it.
The pay structure is straightforward. There's a guaranteed base of $900 per day, but your earnings aren't capped. You keep what you produce beyond that base. And there are no lab fees coming out of your pocket.
What You Need to Bring
- A DDS or DMD from a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
- A current, valid license to practice dentistry in the state where you'll be working, or eligibility to get licensed there.
- Other required certifications like CPR and DEA.
- If you're practicing in Louisiana, Mississippi, District of Columbia, Texas, or Massachusetts, you need Nitrous Oxide certification.
More than the paperwork, they need someone who genuinely likes working with kids and has compassion for both children and adult patients. Teamwork matters here; respect and cooperation are how the office runs smoothly.
What They Provide
- Malpractice insurance is covered by the company.
- They offer multiple schedule options to help with work/life balance (this role being one of them).
- Continuing Education reimbursement is available.
- CE is also offered through an ADA Accredited Continued Education Recognition Program (C.E.R.P.).
- They reimburse for associated licenses, certifications, and professional dues like ADA or AAPD memberships.
- For full time providers, there's eligibility to participate in Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance plans, plus HSA/FSA accounts.
- The company pays for Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, and Basic Life Insurance plans.
- A 401(k) Retirement Plan is available.
- You get paid holidays and time off.
