Job Overview

This truck driver position involves moving freight safely and efficiently across the region. You'll spend your days on the road, managing your schedule and ensuring timely deliveries. The role is based out of Houston, TX, with routes that start and end there.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with all federal and state regulations.
• Conduct thorough pre trip and post trip inspections, noting any mechanical issues.
• Plan efficient routes using GPS and mapping tools, adapting for traffic or weather.
• Secure cargo properly and complete all required electronic logging documentation.
• Maintain clear, professional communication with dispatchers and customer sites.

Requirements

• A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Recent experience operating tractor trailers; new CDL holders may be considered for some roles.
• Ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical exam and drug screening.
• You need solid map reading skills and comfort with basic in cab technology.
• The job requires lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing into the cab, and hooking/unhooking trailers.

It's an independent job where you're accountable for your rig and your run. Dispatchers are your main point of contact, providing load details and updates. You'll use an ELD for hours of service tracking and a company tablet for paperwork. Expect a mix of regional routes, often home weekly, with schedules that can include early mornings or overnight runs to meet delivery windows.
