Here's the deal. We need a Registered Respiratory Therapist at HCA Houston Healthcare West in Houston, TX. You're going to be a central part of how we deliver care, and you'll do that by coordinating and providing high quality respiratory therapy. Your work follows the standards for our state and specialty.

This is a full service hospital with over 300 beds. We've been here in West Houston for more than thirty years. We're a Certified Primary Stroke Center, and we have a cardiac and critical care tower through an affiliation with The Woman’s Hospital of Texas.

What you'll do

• Assess patients, document your findings on breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressures.
• Run diagnostic procedures to figure out if respiratory therapy is needed and how patients are responding.
• Deliver treatments like oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
• Help place artificial airways.
• You'll start patients on mechanical ventilation, then monitor them and maintain the equipment.
• Watch for how patients respond to treatment.
• If there's an unintended reaction, you notify the provider and step in as needed.
• Transport patients who are dependent on a ventilator.
• Respond to emergencies to manage airways and make sure patients are ventilated properly during resuscitation events.

The qualifications you need

• A State Registered Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner).
• An Associate Degree.
• A few certifications are required within your first 30 days: Basic Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
