About This Role

The Role

This is a Rehab RN position at HCA Healthcare in Houston, TX. You'll be working with patients who are regaining strength, mobility, and independence after an illness, injury, or extended hospital stay. Most patients stay two to three weeks, so you'll actually get to know them and see how your care helps them improve day by day.

What You'll Do Day to Day

  • Administer medications and treatments, watch for reactions, and report any changes right away
  • Help patients with mobility, transfers, and everyday activities like bathing and dressing ; it's all tied to their therapy goals and independence
  • Monitor vital signs and neurological status so you can catch changes quickly
  • Document each patient's progress and functional ability; this guides the whole care team
  • Teach patients and families about what to expect during recovery, how to stay safe, and self care techniques they can use at home
  • Work alongside nurses, therapists, and physicians to make sure every patient gets personalized care that actually fits their needs

Qualifications You Need

  • A Vocational School Graduate (LPN/LVN)
  • A current Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse license (or a Graduate Vocational Nurse license)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification ; you have 30 days from your start date to get it
  • No prior experience is required for this role
  • No travel needed either ; you're based at one location in Houston, TX

About the Facility

The Methodist Hospital Stone Oak Rehabilitation Center is a freestanding facility with 42 beds. It's designed entirely around inpatient rehabilitation ; getting people back on their feet after trauma, surgery, or a disabling medical condition.
