Radiology Technologist

About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this rad tech role at The Woman's Hospital of Texas in Houston, TX.

The Job

You'd be working under the Radiology Director. Your main job is providing imaging services. That covers routine diagnostic x rays, portable x rays, and fluoroscopy.

It's a hospital setting, so you're not just running machines. You're part of patient care. You'll communicate with physicians, nurses, and other staff to make sure things run smoothly for the patients we serve. And you've got to keep an eye on quality and safety every day.

What You'd Be Doing

  • Maintain ongoing Quality Control processes for the radiology department.
  • Ensure patient safety by following all Texas Department of Radiation Control standards for radiation protection.
  • Your interactions with patients and colleagues need to show compassion and respect.
  • Identify and help out with opportunities to improve performance on your unit and with other service areas.
  • Manage your time well and be mindful of supplies to help control costs without ever compromising patient safety or care quality.
  • Be an advocate for your patients' health, safety, and rights.
  • Show up on time, ready to work. A positive attitude and personal motivation go a long way here.
  • Uphold the professional standards of the organization and practice with integrity.

The Must Haves (They're Required)

  • A graduate from an accredited or registered School of Radiology (RT).
  • A current certification as a Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer (MRT) from the Texas Medical Board.
  • A current registration in Radiography (ARRT R) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.).
  • Previous experience working in a hospital radiology department is required. They don't specify how many years, but it needs to be hospital based experience.

The Nice to Have

A plus if you have experience working with Neonatal patients. It's not required, but it would definitely be valued here given their focus on women's health across all life stages.

The Schedule & Pay

The original posting doesn't list specific hours or a pay range. Those details would come up later in the process. This is a full time position based at their 420+ bed hospital in Houston, TX.

The Benefits Package

This is where they get detailed. Their total rewards package covers health, life, career, and retirement. Here’s what they list:

  • Medical plans: Comprehensive coverage; many common services have no cost or a low copay. Prescription drug and behavioral health are included. You also get free telemedicine services and free AirMed medical transportation.
