Psychologist
About This Role
The Role
This is a school psychologist position with Point Quest Group, and it's for someone who treats this work as more than just a job. You'll be the person students rely on when they need someone in their corner ; someone who can make sense of what's going on and turn it into real support. It takes empathy, systems thinking, and a lot of determination.
What You'll Actually Do
- Conduct full evaluations of cognitive, emotional, adaptive, and behavioral functioning using standardized tools. Then take those findings and turn them into recommendations that teachers and families can actually use.
- Develop and consult on IEPs and 504 plans. You'll create evidence based interventions, lead IEP meetings with families and staff, and make sure every plan is built around what the student needs.
- Provide crisis support when things get hard at school. You'll also train staff on mental health, behavior management, and instructional strategies so the whole team knows how to respond.
- Keep accurate records of everything you do ; assessments, interventions, progress notes ; while writing reports that meet legal, ethical, and compliance standards.
- Sit in on multidisciplinary team meetings to review student plans and help shape what comes next.
- Partner with educators, families, related service providers, and outside agencies. The goal is a school culture where everyone pulls together for student growth.
What You Need to Bring
- A Department of Education School Psychologist Certification for the state where you're delivering services (Texas in this case).
- A cleared Department of Justice/FBI Background Check or equivalent state or national fingerprint clearance.
- A valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- The legal right to work in the United States.
- It's preferred if you hold NASP certification (National Association of School Psychologists).
- Experience as a school psychologist in a K–12 setting gives you an edge here. Being bilingual in Spanish and English is also preferred but not required.
