This psychiatric RN role is based at Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX.

What you'll do

  • Provide direct nursing care to psychiatric patients, coordinating with the care team on treatment plans
  • Collaborate with physicians to manage patient needs and adjust care as conditions change
  • Monitor patient progress, document thoroughly, and communicate clearly with patients, families, and the team
  • Follow high safety standards and infection control protocols at all times
  • Participate in professional development and nursing education opportunities offered on site

What you'll need

  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or higher) from an accredited school of nursing
  • At least 12 months of registered nurse experience in a healthcare environment
  • A current Texas RN license or a temporary Texas RN license (you'll need to get the permanent one within 90 days). A compact license works if it meets the Board of Nursing's current requirements
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Any other certifications or credentials required by the unit or service line
