
About This Role
What You'll Be Doing
As a Maintenance Technician A in Houston, TX, you're the person keeping our fleet running. You report to a Lead Technician, Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager. Your job is hands on repair and maintenance work on both diesel and non diesel equipment and trucks. That includes chassis components, refuse bodies (control, hydraulic, and electrical systems), air brake systems, general engine work, HVAC components, and suspension, drive train, and steering systems.
You'll work on a single fleet with state of the art equipment. You'll support our drivers as they run their routes. And you'll service some of the most technically advanced vehicles on the road. Every day brings a new challenge, and you'll get trained on new technologies and equipment along the way.
Your Responsibilities
- Maintain advanced knowledge and strong skill proficiency in all these vehicle systems: chassis components, refuse bodies (control, hydraulic, and electrical systems), air and hydraulic braking systems, engine repair and maintenance, suspension, drivetrain and steering systems, heating and air conditioning systems
- Perform line maintenance welding and fabrication
- Identify the source of malfunctions using a variety of electronic tools
- Complete applicable Company training programs
- Perform other job related duties as assigned or apparent
- Work both on site and on the road as needed
What You'll Need
- At least 3 years of experience as a technician working on heavy duty trucks
- Ability to perform inspections and repairs without supervision in some of these systems (not all required): Suspensions & Steering, General Engine, Transmissions, Brakes, Electrical, Hydraulics, Drive Train, Diesel Emissions
- A valid Driver's License
Nice to Have
- ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1 through T8) – a plus but not required
- LNG and/or CNG experience – a plus but not required
- Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License – a plus but not required
