About This Role

What this role is about

This is a Construction Superintendent position for BP Energy in Houston, TX. You'll be working on a 21/21 rotation schedule. The core of this job is overseeing the Operations and Maintenance (O/M) Contractor ; making sure they deliver safe, reliable, and cost effective maintenance. You'll report to the Operations Installation/Site Manager and work alongside the Site Production Superintendent.

What you'll actually do day to day

  • Oversee the O/M Contractor to drive the site's safety culture and manage both process and personal safety.
  • Make sure the Contractor's supervisors are enforcing rigorous operating discipline across their Operations and Maintenance Team.
  • Keep an eye on maintenance delivery at the site, ensuring the O/M Contractor hits agreed performance indicators, milestones, and service expectations ; while also keeping an eye on cost efficiency and plant reliability.
  • Oversee third party maintenance activities on site, making sure they align with the O/M Contract requirements.
  • Input into the Contractor Performance Review Meeting process, raise NCRs (Non Conformance Reports) as agreed, and provide quality feedback to the CAM (Contract Account Manager).
  • Help develop operational plans that support broader strategies, offering technical expertise to proactively manage operational issues and constraints.
  • Take ownership of operations input into the area integrated schedule ; specifically around plant preparation schedules and site constraints.
  • Be accountable for the operations work program delivery, including enabling work for other sub function scopes (like CoW readiness).

What you need to have

  • Extensive experience in offshore oil and/or gas operations.
  • Familiarity with BSEE and USCG regulations.
  • Knowledge and experience in offshore maintenance execution and delivery.
  • Previous supervisory experience with a real focus on safety and performance management.
  • Previous experience working in a Contractor delivered operating model is highly desirable.

Skills and qualities we're looking for

You should bring agility, decision making, and cost conscious thinking. You'll need to know your way around contract management, control of work, equipment strategies, and maintenance fundamentals. Integrity management, risk based inspection, and reliability processes should be familiar territory. And we'll be looking for real strength in safety leadership and working with contractors.

Where you'll work and travel

This position is a hybrid of office and remote working. You should expect up to 50% travel with this role. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
