About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this Cardiac RN spot on the Med Surg floor at HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake in Houston, TX.

You know how it is. You need the tools and the backup to do your job right. Here, you get a strong float pool for support when things get busy. They've got tech that makes patient monitoring and communication smoother, so you're not fighting the system. The supply chains are solid; you won't be hunting for basic equipment. And if you want to grow, there's real support for ongoing clinical education to sharpen your skills.

The Work

You'll coordinate nursing care for your assigned patients on the unit to make sure it's quality care. It's about using your knowledge and skill to provide that care, considering everything from physical and psychological needs to safety and education for your patient population.

You'll exercise independent judgment using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, evaluate. And you'll provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing staff and the rest of the patient care team to maintain professional nursing standards on the floor.

What You Need To Bring

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. An Associates degree works; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • A current Registered Nurse License in Texas or a Multi State Compact License. If you have a Compact License, you'll need to get your Texas RN license within 90 days of starting.
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification is required.
  • At least one year of clinical Med Surg experience as a licensed RN in an acute care setting is required. Experience with Telemetry or Cardiac patients fits perfectly here.
  • The ability to read EKG rhythms would be a big plus.

The Schedule & Support

This is full time work with rotating shifts. You'll have access to all the staffing support, technology, and resources they mentioned so you can focus on delivering safe, high quality care.

Benefits & Growth

HCA Healthcare is one of the largest employers of nurses in the country; over 94,000; so there's scale here. They're serious about education being key to excellence. They're actually a majority owner of Galen College of Nursing (part of their family with Research College of Nursing and Mercy School of Nursing), which makes it easier and more affordable to gain certifications and new job skills.

The benefits package supports health, life, career, and retirement:

  • Comprehensive medical coverage; prescription drug plans; dental and vision; behavioral health and telemedicine services.
  • Wellbeing support includes free counseling and referral services.
  • Time away from work programs cover paid time off, paid family leave, plus long- and short term disability coverage.
  • A 401(k) Plan with a 100% match on 3% to 9% of your pay (based on how long you've been there). There's also an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, flexible spending accounts, retirement tools, rollover support, and financial counseling.
  • Education support through tuition assistance and student loan assistance. They help with certification costs too.
