About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this opening. We're KBS, and we keep big spaces clean and running smoothly. Right now, we need someone to lead a small janitorial crew in Honolulu, HI. It's a hands on job where you're both doing the work and making sure it gets done right.
The Work
You'll be on site, performing cleaning tasks according to the building's schedule and our standard procedures. You'll also be the point person for a small team.
- Cleaning is the main task: rooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, stairways, and windows.
- Sweeping, removing debris, cleaning spills, and mopping floors throughout the sales floor and seating areas.
- Polishing stainless steel and cleaning windows or mirrored surfaces.
- Dusting fixtures, shelves, and products as needed.
- Keeping customer and team member restrooms clean and stocked.
- Completing sweep logs when directed.
- Operating and sanitizing equipment safely.
- Following all health, sanitation, and safe work practices.
- Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
What You Need to Bring
A lot of this is about being able to handle the physical part of the day. Here are the specifics.
- The ability to lift and move items up to 49 pounds.
- You'll be walking around the facility constantly during your shift; standing and walking for up to 10 12 hours is part of it.
- You need to read documents like safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and chemical handling sheets. These are generally in English but may be in Spanish if state law requires it.
The Practical Details
The pay starts at $17.25 per hour. Your weekly schedule looks like this:
- Sundays from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM
- Tuesdays from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM
- Thursdays from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM
- Mondays from 4:00 AM to 8:00 AM
- Wednesdays from 4:00 AM to 8:00 AM
A quick note on timekeeping: we use an app called KBSPresence for clocking in/out and important info. You'd use your personal phone for it; we provide a cell phone reimbursement according to local laws for that work use.
