Security Monitoring Operator

The Job in Plain Language

This is a full time role in a 24/7 Alarm Monitoring Center. You'll work a mid shift, 2nd shift, or 3rd shift schedule ; that includes holidays and weekends. The work itself is similar to what a 911 emergency dispatcher does. It's a life safety role, so you need to be attentive and quick.

What You'll Actually Do

• Respond to all incoming alarm signals using our automation software ; you follow documented procedures step by step
• When it makes sense, you call the premise, notify the authorities, and then call a list of contacts
• Log every piece of information into the automation system immediately and accurately
• Handle the multi line telephone system
• Keep customer information confidential at all times

What You Need to Bring

• High School Diploma or GED (some college preferred)
• 1 3 years of work experience
• You must type 30+ words per minute ; and pass a pre hire assessment for it
• You can prioritize and multitask without dropping the ball
• You follow written and verbal instructions well
• You perform with a high degree of urgency and accuracy
• Good interpersonal communication and organizational skills
• A positive attitude when it comes to teamwork and continuous improvement

The Training

People selected for this role will complete a paid training class. At the end of it, you must pass a final exam that certifies your skill as an Alarm Monitoring Operator.
