What You’ll Actually Do as a Dispatcher
This is a full time job in our 24/7 Alarm Monitoring Center. You’ll work a Mid Shift, 2nd shift, or 3rd shift schedule ; that includes weekends and holidays. We operate around the clock, so your schedule will reflect that.
You’re the person who picks up when an alarm goes off. Think of it like a 911 dispatcher, just focused on security alarms. You respond to incoming signals in our automation software, following documented procedures step by step. When it makes sense, you call the premise, notify fire or police, and run through a contact list. You log everything into the system immediately and accurately. And you’ll handle a multi line phone system while keeping customer information confidential at all times.
We take this seriously because it’s life safety work. Every response has to be quick and accurate.
What You Need to Get This Job
- High School Diploma or GED ; though some college is preferred
- 1 3 years of work experience
- Typing speed of 30+ words per minute (you’ll take a pre hire typing assessment)
- Able to prioritize and multitask without losing your cool
- Can follow both written and verbal instructions
- Perform with a high degree of urgency and accuracy
- Good interpersonal communication and organizational skills
- A positive attitude toward teamwork and continuous improvement
Training and Certification
We’ll put you through a paid training class. At the end, you take a final exam to certify as an Alarm Monitoring Operator. You pass it, you’re in.
