The Gist of It
Hartford HealthCare is looking for an Ultrasound Technologist to work at The Hospital of Central Connecticut. This is a 40 hour week role where you'll float throughout the offices, Monday through Friday 8 5pm. You'll also work every third Saturday and Sunday from 7am to 3:30pm at HOCC, plus take call. New hires are eligible for a $10,000 signing bonus.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
This isn't just about pressing buttons on a machine. You'll be performing diagnostic procedures using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure. The goal is to produce quality images that radiologists and physicians can actually use for interpretation.
Pretty much everything falls under your scope here. That includes:
- Abdominal, pelvic, and gynecologic studies
- Small parts and Doppler studies
- Interventional procedures
- Real time, color flow, and transvaginal imaging
- Biopsies and other interventional work
You'll also use your understanding of growth and development principles to assess each patient's individual age specific needs and provide care that actually fits them.
What You Need to Bring
- Graduate of an Accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program specializing in Sonography
- ARDMS credential (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) in hand before your hire or transfer date
- New graduates will be considered ; so if you're fresh out of school, don't hesitate
The Work Schedule
Standard weekdays from 8am to 5pm. But you're floating throughout the offices, so your exact location changes. Then you've got every third Saturday and Sunday from 7am to 3:30pm at HOCC with call duties on top of that.
