The Job

Cone Health needs a Cardiac Sonographer for their inpatient team in Greensboro, NC. You'll be performing cardiac ultrasound procedures, and you'll work under the direct supervision of the department supervisor while you get your feet under you. This is an entry level clinical role where you're expected to learn fast but aren't thrown into it alone.

What You'll Actually Do

  • Run routine and special cardiac echo exams using our established protocols ; every study needs to be good diagnostic quality.
  • Analyze the test data and then communicate what you found directly to the reading cardiologists so they can make proper diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Operate all the testing equipment, troubleshoot when something goes sideways, and request repairs as needed to keep things accurate, safe, and efficient.
  • Keep your professional certification current along with your CPR card ; it's not just paperwork; you need to be ready if a cardiac emergency happens.
  • A few other duties will come up as assigned; that's just how a hospital works.

Who Should Apply

You've got a high school diploma or GED plus some ultrasound training behind you. Maybe you just finished school or have less than a year of healthcare experience ; that's fine. This role exists for people who aren't fully registered yet but are on the path. Cone Health will supervise you closely while you build those skills.

The Credentials Matter Here

You need to be eligible for either the Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS or the Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI. If you don't already hold one of those registrations, that's okay ; but you are required to obtain RDCS or RCS within 18 months of your start date. That's a hard requirement, not a preference.
